    Biodentify

    Biodentify has a patented method to help companies identify productive areas in advance so that the number of drillings can be significantly reduced.

    Predicting 'sweet spots'
    The development of good and constant production areas with oil or gas, from shale layers for instance, is a very expensive process. It requires the drilling of many wells, and consequent effects on the surrounding areas. The difficulty is to predict what locations are productive. Biodentify predicts where the sweet spots can be found on the basis of soil samples at a depth of 30 cm. This means fewer drillings and significant cost savings.

    Up to 90% certainty
    Biodentify has an extensive database containing information on the features of productive areas. By comparing the DNA information in the soil sample with past data collected in a database, an initial prediction is made with a level of accuracy of around 70% without the need for drilling. When more drillings are made in a specific area and these data added to the database, the prediction accuracy rises to some 90%.

    InnoSer

    The effectiveness and possible side-effects of a new drug are extensively studied in the early pre-clinical phase, long before it becomes available in the market. InnoSer provides knowledge and research possibilities to universities, public research institutions and biomedical and pharmaceutical companies.

    Proof of concept
    To test, check the dosage and determine any side-effects of a potential new drug, studies are already undertaken in an early phase of the development. In the proof of concept phase InnoSer supports the developers with research and advice.

    Effects in the body
    During the studies, the experts examine what happens to a substance when it enters the body: from the moment of intake to the moment the substance completely disappears from the body. Pharmacodynamic studies investigate the effects of the substance on the body (the efficacy as medication). InnoSer focuses particularly, although not exclusively, on studies for immunological, oncological or renal disorders.

    In vitro en in vivo
    InnoSer’s specialist laboratories always have the right climatic conditions and expertise at their disposal. Studies are performed using test-tube methods (in vitro) and, where this is not possible, laboratory animals (in vivo). The rooms and methods adhere to the strictest statutory quality requirements. The highly experienced InnoSer specialists can advise on the best formulations and dosages for the optimum result.

    SoLayTec

    SoLayTec produces machines for the production of high-yield solar panels, a pioneering technological development that makes the requisite technology available for commercial production.

    6% more yield from the sun
    Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) can generate at least 6% more yield from solar panels. ALD deposits a thin layer of aluminium oxide just a few nanometres thick on a solar cell. While this is not new, SoLayTec has created a breakthrough to make the industrial application of this technology suitable for the production of solar cells, and make an essential contribution to getting solar energy more widely accessible.

    High process speeds
    Technological advances have enabled an increase in solar cell production speeds by 100 to 1000 times. This is an important step in making solar panels both affordable and efficient for industry and consumers. Since the thickness of the aluminium oxide layer can be adjusted, the machine can be used for various production methods. The SoLayTec machine is also used for the production of the very latest solar cells all over the world.

    Efficient solar cells
    The latest generation of industrial solar cells is some 20% more efficient in converting energy, a level of efficiency that requires a very effective surface passivation. Combined with the application of ALD, an intricate, uniform layer is created that opens the door for developers to create further innovation and even more efficient solar cells.
